Did I miss a new setting,
or is this a regression as “Your topic is similar to…” just showed this old bug report from a year ago?
As I don’t remember experiencing that back then, now I have a very similar if not identical behaviour.
WOW… Just noticed the same issue. Cannot move anything from my laptop screen to my external monitor. I can create an empty folder on my external monitor, but cannot drag it to my laptop screen. ![]()
Let go check on another laptop that has not been updated.
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20260618
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0

Graphics Platform: X11

When moving an image from laptop screen to external monitor.
I can drag a shortcut from laptop to external screen, but cannot move nor even right click to highlight it. Only option is double click to run it or right click to remove.

What I see in the logs when trying to move something.
| 6/20/26 8:18 AM | plasmashell | cannot grab mouse: no event is currently being delivered |
|---|---|---|
| 6/20/26 8:18 AM | kioworker | Connection::send() called with connection not inited |
| 6/20/26 8:18 AM | kioworker | An error occurred during write. The worker terminates now. |
At the moment I used the “move into a folder and then back to the other Monitor desktop” workaround mentioned in the old thread.
That will probably not work with your Link, though. As, from what I learned recently, that is a widget not regular file / (dot desktop) Icon from the looks of it.
And I forgot my system info:
Operating System: Arch Linux

I have no clue if it is the SAME bug but it LOOKS lie the same bug.
I have it again also.

As nothing changed for me today with 6.7.1 and even with a fresh virgin user account I, at long last, reactivated my bugtracker account and added a comment at the old bug report.
Not sure if I had to open a new one as the description, apart that I have 3 not 2 Monitors, is so much identical, though.
This is https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=521713. Sorry about that. We’ll get it fixed.
