The time on the timeline is not straightforward to read. It can be minutes, seconds, frames, etc.
When zooming/un-zooming to adjust the clips, it takes an extra effort to read the time and interpret the scale.
I would suggest to add a scale above or bellow the time:
By default, each white dotted line could represent 1 second (good for creating transitions) or ideally should be configurable…

When thinking more about the subject, some other ways to improve the scale readability could be:
1- Possibility to configure the scale unit (frames, seconds, minutes…)
2- Even better: to be able to pile 2 or 3 different scales one on top of each other (to be configured separately frames, seconds, minutes…)
3- A kind of a workaround: possibility to configure a default scale value (so that we can easily come back to a known scale value):
