Current context menu customization is definitely better than nothing, but every time I disable something, I feel like I’m making a trade-off. I trade space and usability of my context menus for complete lack of access to certain features (until I turn the thing back on and restart Dolphin).
I think it would be nice to have a more advanced context menu editor that would allow users to build a tree-like structure, basically like with kmenuedit, so users can add their own groups, hide or show entries they don’t want.
For example, if I want to have the git integration in Dolphin, but don’t want its entries in my context menu, I could just hide them or make a separate git group where they all would show up. Same for kleopatra.
Or as another example, if I use create folder and file a lot, I could move them out of the group “Create” into the main context menu.
It would also be nice to have an easy and user-friendly option to add custom context menu entries, again like in kmenuedit.
I think it would resolve the context menu clutter that a lot of applications create without sacrificing functionality, while simultaneously allowing power users to greatly improve their workflow.
TLDR: basically Nilesoft Shell with a kmenuedit-like GUI.
Tbh this is the only thing I am missing from Windows.
