Thanks for these steps. If I comment out the block entirely, then I end up with the time displayed before the date.
It also completely removes the gap between date and time (which is easily worked around by using a custom date format and adding a space or two).

Any news on when it may be reviewed and which version it may be available in?
I stopped using the default digital clock because of this decision. I’d like to get back to using it… when this is reversed.
