In Windows Explorer, it is possible to open a file/directory’s properties by pressing Alt + Return – this is also the case in Dolphin, by default. However, the former also offers Alt + Double-click as a more mouse-centric alternative. I used this a lot before transitioning to KDE Plasma, and would like to see it available on here as well.

That would be a lovely feature.
You can fill-in a feature request at bugs.kde.org for dolphin.
That is very easy to implement.
I would consider this for a junior job.
