An app opens where the mouse cursor is, not which monitor it was launched from

I have a 3 screen setup: A, B (Primary, Laptop) and C.

If I launch an app from the Task Manager in screen C then move my mouse to screen B before the window for that app appears then the app will be open in the screen B. My expected behavior is the app opening in screen C. Any way to do this?

I thought setting Window placement to ‘under mouse’ would do that.

Did you look in your settings?

I tried every option in Window Placement, that still doesn’t fix my issue. If I launch VSCode for example from a task manager in screen C then quickly move the cursor to screen A then it will open in screen A, I want it to open in screen C

try launching from the menu - not sure about screens, but windows always open under my cursor when I launch from a window.

Maybe it’s because you’re clicking with the mouse before moving the mouse…

Set your mouse first, then launch from krunner.

Ok so if I launch krunner in screen C then move my mouse to screen A, krunner stays in screen C, I search for vscode, move my mouse to screen A, press enter to select Visual Studio Code then yes it will open on screen C, but if I open krunner in screen C type vscode press enter on Visual Studio Code then move my cursor to screen A then it will open in screen A.

Take a shot every time you read screen
