Annoying region keeps updating as I move mouse over files

I’ve just updated my Gentoo machine and have Dolphin 25.04.0 in place. When I move the mouse over the files, there is a small region down in the bottom left hand corner that keeps updating with useless info about the file that the cursor is currently over. Move right across a dir of displayed files and this thing just keeps changing, name, type, size.

I have no recollection whatsoever of this in previous versions of Dolphin and is really annoying - the constant changes are just distracting. Anyone got any idea as to how to terminate with extreme prejudice this or is it a bug?

Regards,
    Andrew

p.s. Anyone having trouble using Spectacle to grab user defined rectangles?

that is part of the status bar which you should be able to turn off

ctrl+alt+I type in “status”

i recall seeing someone else with a weird status bar glitch and a bug report filed so if you turn it back on and it’s still there, then wait for an update to correct the bug.

or try the nightly build to see if they fixed it yet.

Nothing comes up when I type “status” - sorry, can’t screengrab it, the dialogue/window disappears when I try and grab.

The configuration options you’re looking for in the latest version of Dolphin are located in Settings > Configure Dolphin > Interface > Status & Location bars:

It’s “Configure” rather than “Settings” if coming off “the hamburger” but otherwise, that worked.

Now does my memory serve me correctly in that there was a something similar to above but in the lower right corner and it gave the free space on the partition, or the total space taken? This one didn’t constantly change as you moved the mouse around.

That’s the “Full width” option for the Status Bar, in that same settings page.
