Any hope for being able to disable the background blur and tint during "Present Windows"?

Is there any hope for being able to disable the background blur and tint during “Present Windows”?

Perhaps it might be just me, but during the present windows screen is the only time for me where I would regularly see my wallpaper mostly unobstructed from all the windows. Except it’s made mostly unrecognizable by the intense effects:

While I can see somebody argue the effects help seeing the windows, that argument seems to fall a little flat if you consider that the “Overview” doesn’t blur the wallpaper behind the windows at all. However, because that one is more cramped, I tend to use “Present Windows” instead, sadly to the detriment of my wallpaper.

Which KDE version do you use at the moment? Is it 5.0, 5.1 or already 5.2?

Plasma 5.0 from July 2014, 5.1 from October 2014 and 5.2 from January 2015… You’re really on the bleeding edge there

AFAIK ell1e’s using 6.4.x - and I think the Present Windows settings have vanished.

Have you tried ‘GRID’? ‘Overview’ also gives a reasonable desktop view, but really, I don’t like Overview much.

Grid seems to have the same problem as Overview but even worse. If you’re not using virtual desktops (which I’m not) it makes no sense to waste that much space on them. Present seems to be the only one that works well in that case.

I wonder why none of these others blur and tint behind the windows, and only Present does? Makes me wonder why that effect even exists.

I have close to the newest on my machines, 6.3 on some and 6.4 on others.

Overview and Grid don’t blur the background because they are designed as workspace navigation tools, not Window Selection tools… though they also can be used that way.

Present Windows uses blur to visually separate active windows from the background, making it easier to focus, to improve readability, reduce visual clutter and guide attention.

The fact that you want to focus on your desktop calls to mind that CtrlD is probably your best bet.

Blur exists not only for aesthetics, it exists for practical purposes.

I’m still confused why the others skip the blur behind the windows. It seems a little inconsistent, I assume people use them to select windows too.

Anyway, it would be nice if there simply was a toggle.
