Application Launcher for KDE Plasma on Wayland Not Working

Hi all,

I did an update using the default package manager in the system tray, and after rebooting my application launcher seems to be broken. When I press the Super key or try clicking on the launcher, I get this error message:

qrc:/qt/qml/plasma/applet/org/kde/plasma/kickoff/main.qml:190:25: Type FullRepresentation unavailable

qrc:/qt/qml/plasma/applet/org/kde/plasma/kickoff/FullRepresentation.qml:86:22: Type NormalPage unavailable

qrc:/qt/qml/plasma/applet/org/kde/plasma/kickoff/NormalPage.qml:19:22: Type ApplicationsPage unavailable

qrc:/qt/qml/plasma/applet/org/kde/plasma/kickoff/ApplicationsPage.qml:18:23: Type KickoffListView unavailable

qrc:/qt/qml/plasma/applet/org/kde/plasma/kickoff/KickoffListView.qml:169:17: Cannot assign to property of unknown type “QString”.

Not entirely sure what happened, as I always check for new updates daily, but this is the first time the application launcher has broken after updating.

Thanks!

Which distro are you using?

If it’s Arch, see this thread - it looks like a fix may already be available:

Fix is available.

╰─❯ pacman -Q qt6-declarative
qt6-declarative 6.11.0-3

Sorry, I should have said that I’m running CachyOS!

Perfect, thanks for linking the fix!
