Hi, please make the application of emojis the default so that instead of going to the clipboard, they are applied automatically.

Sometimes itā€™s good to keep things simple, and this is likely the reason that this is not yet a default.

Letā€™s try thisā€¦

So hmmm the alternative would be for the Emoji selector to function as a virtual-keyboard.

Now Iā€™ve said that, it sounds like a great ideaā€¦ and it wouldnā€™t clog up my clipboard history with silly :poop::robot: stuff :wink:

FWIW work is already underway to leverage the virtual keyboard to give LONG PRESS options on letters, so Iā€™m thinking this would be an interesting next step to blend the benefits of touchscreen keyboards with our mechanical devices.

How would you, for example, do this in a terminal emulator? I agree that having a separate window to manage isnā€™t the best approach, but I donā€™t think that this one is either.

What should happen is simply making it a tray icon.

But actually itā€™s also a great idea to drop a note on the desktop - sticky is good - for any new shortcuts youā€™re likely to forget.
