Auto-hide panel only works after a few tries

Hi,
I prefer my bottom panel to auto-hide, I also tried “avoiding windows”. In both cases, I often (most of the times, but not always) have to move my cursor several times over the bottom of my screen before the panel shows up. I don’t use secondary monitors (as I found that could be a reason for this problem).
I had the same problem on 39, I hoped it would be fixed.

Yes, the same for me.
I cannot understand this feature: “Auto-hide”, specifically when or how the bottom panel should be automatically hidden?
Till now I cannot manage it…

are you using icons only task manager ?

could this be the option, missing by you ?

Hi @ycom1 ,
Thanks for your help. I didn’t know about that settings panel, so you learned me something new. I also wouldn’t expect the auto-hide setting also be in that panel, so that’s also good to know.
I did have that selection marked, though.
I changed my set-up, I now use the panel on the top, always showing. Not as some kind of dock anymore. So the problem of not showing on time, doesn’t bother me anymore…

I made a new panel and put a Quick Starter in it (to use it as a dock).

I think the solution is that you have to drag your cursor far enough downwards.
