On Plasma 6.7.5 (Arch), Power & Battery panel shows “Not Charging 44%” (screenshot attached), but kernel says otherwise:
$ cat /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/status
Charging
Also, power-profiles-daemon emits correct PropertiesChanged signals on profile switch (confirmed via dbus-monitor), so the daemon itself is healthy — this looks like a PowerDevil/UPower display sync issue, not a backend problem.
Started after installing then uninstalling auto-cpufreq and re-enabling power-profiles-daemon. No leftover auto-cpufreq files/units found.
Anyone else seen this? What should I check next in PowerDevil?
yeah that split (sysfs says Charging, applet says Not Charging) usually means PowerDevil cached a stale UPower state after the auto-cpufreq swap. power-profiles-daemon looking healthy on dbus does not fix the applet by itself.
what usually clears it for me:
1. systemctl --user restart plasma-powerdevil
2. if the label stays wrong, sudo systemctl restart upower then restart powerdevil again
3. confirm power-profiles-daemon is the active one (systemctl status power-profiles-daemon) and nothing from auto-cpufreq is still masking it
if it still lies after that, paste journalctl --user -u plasma-powerdevil -b --no-pager | tail -40
Thanks it works for me too
