I just downloaded KDE but now don’t have a clue how to use it, can anyone explain it in simple terms for a non tech person please?
What distribution are you using? (That might be Fedora, Kubuntu, Manjaro etc etc)
In general you use Plasma like you would any other computer operating system. Launch apps using the program launcher in the bottom left, and use those apps to accomplish your goals. Use the bar at the bottom to switch between open windows and minimize them.
Not too different from how every other mainstream computer OS works — at least at a basic level.

“use it” is far too vague for anyone to know what that means.
do you want to use a word processor?
do you want to change a setting?
do you want to rice the UI?
Y’all shouldn’t get too ahead of yourselves, maybe OP has just downloaded an .iso file or a media writer application and doesn’t know where to start with installing a Linux distro in the first place.

I want to link my phone (Android) to PC (Windows), I was looking for an alternative the MS Phonelink which keeps losing connection. There is obviously much more to this app than I expected.
So when you say you downloaded KDE: exactly what did you download, and from where?
Ah, perhaps you mean specifically you downloaded KDE Connect?

Hi, David! No worries at all! Once you installed the program both on your phone and on your computer you’ll need to make sure that they’re both connected to the same Network (Wi-Fi) afterwards you’ll be able to see your PC’s name in the Android app and the same on your PC. You can go ahead and click/tap either one or the other, once you do you’ll get a prompt asking to confirm the connection, go ahead and confirm it and you’re all set! If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask!
