Being able to have snapshots in the system tray

would be nice to be able to have an icon to set up snapshots in system tray

You mean screenshots or filesystem (e.g. btrfs) / backup snapshots?

backup snap shots im on ext4 im swapping to btrfs after learning about how its back up system works

you can enable the backup item in the system tray and that will give you access to kup to make your backups with.

that’s what i use for constant backups of quickly changing files in my /home directory.

for more long term and permanent backups of /home, i use backintime (which i believe also offers a system tray icon if you want it).

how do i put timeshift into the system tray

timeshift doesn’t have a system tray option, so you would have to use the quick launch widget next to the system tray to make it appear to be part of it and then just drag the timeshift icon from the app menu to the launcher widget.

you can try and play with spacers and the margin separator widget to help make it fit in.
