Black screen with Plasma wayland

Hello everyone, I installed plasma wayland with:

  • sudo apt install plasma-desktop -y
  • sudo apt install plasma-workspace-wayland

When i start plasma (Wayland) from the login manager, the splash screen appear but get frozen after a few seconds, and I am forced to manually shutdown.

Plasma (X11) works fine.

Kubuntu was previously installed and removed, maybe some conflict with old configs ?

System configs:

  • Ubuntu 24.4
  • Login manager: GDD3
  • Intel Graphics

You may be missing some parts of Plasma here, with only installing the meta-package plasma-desktop. You really need kde-plasma-desktop for a complete but minimal setup. The first is only a subset of parts.

Old configs should not matter, assuming that Kubuntu was also 24.04, as it is part of Ubuntu and what you are installing here are the same Kubuntu packages.
