Booting to black screen after 6.3 update

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using KDE Neon for about half a year now and have had minimal issues, apart from some graphical issues after the 6.2 update. However, after the 6.3 update, my computer completely fails to boot—it just goes to a black screen with no cursor.

I’ve tried opening console with no success, and have tried using the advice from this page (Troubleshooting/Black Screen - KDE UserBase Wiki) with no luck.

I’m unsure how to proceed. Please let me know if y’all have any advice or tips for me to troubleshoot further—it seems not many others are currently having the same issue.

Computer specs:

i7-8750H processor, 6 Cores / 12 Threads, 2.2GHz / 4.1GHz
39gb DDR4
2tb Samsung 990 Pro NVMe M.2
GTX 1060 6gb

Found the solution: I had a driver that messed with DKMS (the xone driver for some reason), and I was running an outdated version of the NVIDIA drivers (535), had to boot into the 6.8 kernel and upgrade to 550 (as well as remove xone driver). Seemed to do the trick
