Browser sharing tabs across virtual desktops

I am using virtual desktops with the Zen web browser and every time I open up a tab on one virtual desktop it appears in the other as an unloaded tab. Is there any way to change this behavior? I want the tabs I have open in one virtual desktop to only be on that virtual desktop’s instance of Zen.

I don’t have this issue with Brave, so it may be down to Zen’s specific handling of tabs, better to reach out to them or their community directly.

I won’t be able to assist you a lot since I don’t personally use Zen.

Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 13
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.6
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.13.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2
Kernel Version: 6.19.11+deb13-amd64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 7500X3D 6-Core Processor
Memory: 32 GiB of RAM (30.7 GiB usable)
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT

Thanks for the reply. I ended up finding a workaround using “spaces” in Zen by giving each virtual desktop its own “space”. It is somewhat annoying but it does work. I think it may have to do with a setting I have turned on where it saves my tabs from when I last closed my browser. Do you have a similar setting enabled for Brave?

No, I haven’t changed any settings relating to Tabs or Virtual Desktop on Brave or KDE.

You can use “Open new blank window” (Ctrl-Shift-N) for that.

Thank you and that does seem to work. I have actually found that I like using spaces quite a bit and will continue to use them because they keep my “essential” tabs the same across desktops.
