For the last year and many new versions of Plasma I keep having this bug and it doesn’t get fix in any update and I can’t find information about it on the internet so I’ll be posting this as a fix request for the developers to fix this issue.
It affects all the latest versions of Plasma 6, maybe since 6.0, I don’t know exactly.
Current version (also affected): 6.5.2.
Distro: Arch Linux
QT version: 6.10.0
The bug:
The bug appears sometimes when I try to copy a link that I set up to have an action in klipper.
Example: I copy a youtube link in Brave and I get a popup like “open in mpv”, which is good, I have that action set up.
If I click to open (or to cancel, or whatever I click in the popup) it works, but if I try AGAIN to copy another link in Brave, the popup won’t open again, and I will get a log error in journalctl:
plasmashell[12155]: Failed to create grabbing popup. Ensure popup QWidgetWindow(0x5bc6979b2760,name="klipperActionPopupWindow") has a transientParent set and that parent window has received input.
Same if I try to open the popup with a shortcut.
Now, if I click the kde panel or open the kde menu and then again try to trigger the popup (with the shortcut) then IT WORKS now again until I click the popup again and back to not being able to get the popup back until I click outside of Brave again.
So basically my only way to trigger the popup appearing twice in brave is copying a link, using the popup, clicking the panel or opening the kde apps menu (because alt+tab doesn’t work either) and then copying again or triggering the shortcut.
If I copy and use the popup once, I can’t do it again without this steps.
