Can google grant kdeconnect this same permssion?

To be clear the issue Nextcloud has been facing, kdeconnect has it too, it restricts kdeconnect feature.

And there is the kio-gdrive:

Either we cripple the features, or we have to go through administrative hoops.
Why can’t they just notify the user of the permission and ask them about it?

Not likely, Google keeps that permission pretty locked down for system apps. KDE Connect would probably need to be pre-installed by the manufacturer to get it.
