Can I change that color? (it’s too anonymous for me to see without concentrating hard and moving around)
I’ve been in the System Settings Colors in Dark Breeze, but can’t find what changes that specific color. It’s #2a2c2f but none of the changeable colors in there have that color.
it’s likely the same color the background color for a selected item (just without the ring).
I see now my arrows are false. The left ones shouldn’t be there, the background to the left of the folder-icon doesn’t change, it’s the ordinary color no matter if it’s selected or not.
So what’s in the “ring” when selected (dark blue with light blue boarders) is the same color fields I’d like to change, but for “move to-selection”.
I changed every single color to screaming green under System Settings Colors just to test, and it’s just tabs, scroll-wheel, column-headers, and some menu-markings. Nothing in the files overview itself.
So I guess that’s not where it’s changed.
Perhaps most colors are hard-coded in dolphin, but based on the 4 default system color schemes (since colors in files overview changes when changing system color scheme). (?)
I just had an argument with a guy who complained about ‘flashing’ from that mousover highlight… IMO it would be nice to be able to tune specifically the % of contrast shift (as it seems to be a coded shift), because none of the numbers in the colors file seemed to affect it.
Some people say it’s too much, and you (like me, who already prefers a low contrast theme) find it pleasantly subtle:
On a dark line, it simply cancels the dark, on the light it just slightly enhances the light.
I really don’t think it needs to be more contrasted than it is, but what I do think is a problem is that if you’re dragging an icon over to a list view, you don’t see the highlight from mousing over the line… until you hover RIGHT over the filename on the left.

I agree on mouse-over that’s just an pointer locator helper sort of. But when doing something where you need to “aim”, like moving a file into a folder I’ve noticed I often go like:
At least with long filenames, where there isn’t much deadspace for the background to show, and the blue of the file being moved might disrupt.
While moving to bright-row it gets brighter and thus highlighted between the dark rows, and when moving to dark-row it also gets brigther and thus obscured between the bright rows. So I guess I mostly have trouble when moving to a dark row.
But since it’s not even its own “object” as I believed, but just the mouse-over one, it’s probably not much to do.
Making destination background like purple instead of +20% contast would be nice like
