Change between two-monitor and single-monitor setup

Hi,
I’m running
Kdenlive: 25.04.3 appimage
MLT: 7.33.0
FFmpeg
KDE Frameworks: 6.15.0
Qt: Using 6.8.3 and built against 6.8.3
openSUSE Leap 15.5 (Xcb)
Build ABI: x86_64-little_endian-lp64
Kernel: linux 5.14.21-150500.55.88-default

At times I’m running kdenlive on my laptop and a monitor, both connected with an HDMI cable. While the controle window is on the laptop I just have the ‘project monitor’ on the monitor (full screen). I finish for the day shutting down kdenlive.
When I restart my system without the monitor connected and launch kdenlive, my screen on the laptop is filled by the project monitor window without any controles available and thus making it difficult to continue with my project.
I help myself by starting the ‘system monitor’ which also shows up the task bar with the icons of active windows. Using that I can close the project monitor. But as soon as I want to see the content of the timeline the project monitor opens up again full screen.
I haven’t found a clue in the manual how this could be handled more easily.
Has anyone got an advice, please?

I would simply press F11 before shutting down Kdenlive. That way, the PM is back to the workspace as a widget when you start it again.

Thanks, sounds easy enough. Just mustn’t forget.

There is work underway to change the windowing/docking behavior of the widgets, so this may get resolved eventually without the need to remember pressing F11
