Chromium forgets passwords after profile sync

I just setup chromium with a fresh profile on my desktop and imported all my stored passwords from a file. Those get stored in kwallet and all works well. Now when I sync ~/.config/chromium to my laptop and start chromium, all works - except the passwords. Chromium forgets them on each start, even when I import them again from the file. If I delete ~/.config/chromium and start fresh, it works.

Is there a way to just delete specific files from the profile to “restart” the password saving?

Ok after a gazillion tests and starts, I think I figured it out (no guarantee that it keeps working yet though): I deleted Login* from all Profile* folders AND the Default folder in .config/chromium. Now passwords are there after I restart Chromium and they still seem to be stored in KWallet.
