also need to say we need a font color chooser because i would love to choose white on some color like the red also need a font size so if its urgent i need to not forget things in the morning it nice to have it on the first thing i do in the mornings is boot my computer

I think sticky notes took a real backseat on the Linux desktop…

Ideally, we should have a tray icon which can pull up a window showing us all our notes and allow us to 1. Toggle each one as and when required and 2. Allow us to select from a couple of presets, but also allow custom paper/ink colours.

Linux Mint’s sticky notes app is functional, but simple - and not working well on a Wayland desktop (and the tray icon just doesn’t work).

Update - tried to figure out a hack…

/usr/share/plasma/desktoptheme/breeze/widgets/notes.svgz

Personally I think this (buff) colour isn’t such a bad example…

You could try to change the background colours of the existing presets. However, the list of selectable colour names in the right‑click menu is fixed and cannot be altered without recompiling Plasma.

To be honest, I’m pretty shocked at how nasty those colours are. I think a ‘custom colour’ for paper and font would be an excellent enhancement - maybe this should go to Brainstorm.

Personally, I rarely use sticky notes, and the buff colour is fine.

i meant it to be brain storm i forgot to change it

Great - so get the ball rolling:

  • The ability to open an overview from the tray to show all sticky notes and allow us to toggle visibility

  • The ability to select ‘custom’ to use a dialog to set paper/font colour.

  • The ability to select ‘custom’ and select ‘accent colour’ might be cool.
