The idea is to create a plasma wallpaper plugin. The plugin will ask you to select an underlying video or image and a mask. The mask will use the system’s accent color for a green screen effect. Kdenlive already has this and calls it a Blue Screen (Color to Alpha) effect.
I can design the images so I am looking for someone to implement the code. Of course any image using fully or partially the accent color would work.
could be distracting if you have something open and still see it being animated in the applications themself.
if this ever is gonna be possible i might use it, (just because the vibe is really something else) would prefer that the animation can be set slower on open apps and/or static/non-animated when maximised.
could be better than a wallpaper engine, but what about the ressource usage, how much would this feature affect battery-drain and more.
i absolutely would love seeing this feature being done.
