Constant "remote control requested" message on system boot

Every time I start my system I get this prompt. I have absolutely no idea when it started and I have no idea how to get rid of it lol

Can someone please point me in the right direction of finding the culprit? Any log files I can view?

Thanks in advance :slightly_smiling_face:

I should also note that if I click “Cancel” or close the window then it instantly re-appears.

If I click “Share” then my entire system gets all wonky and my scrolling gets messed up and my keyboard stops working

This is the second time I see a forum post of this kind where this xdg-portal dialog pops up but it’s not aware of what application this is triggering.

So far I don’t know any logfile where this event would appear in. If the dialog knows what app triggered this, it will display its name of course. I have absolutely no idea why it would not be aware which app requested it and I hope this can be improved upon at some point.

As I understand it, this is actually something that is coming in Plasma 6.4.0, mentioned in one of the This Week in Plasma posts:

Now the “Remote control requested” dialog will always tell you what is requesting remote control; at the very minimum, it will now give you the technical ID of the thing making the request if it can’t display a pretty name — rather than displaying nothing. (Stephan Seitz, link)

Thanks a lot. I didn’t notice that. If users know what app triggers these they will probably be able to help themselves.
