I have contacts (from a CardDAV server) displaying in KAddressBook. If I search for a contact’s name in KRunner, their contact shows up, but I can’t get it to open, copy, whatever. I’ve tried clicking on it and pressing Enter but both of those just close KRunner.
Am I missing something or is this just broken? Thanks!
yeah that contacts runner has been half broken for a while. shows the hit then enter just closes krunner for me too (bugs.kde.org 381333).
id try:
-System Settings → Search → Plasma Search → Contacts on
-Default Applications → set an email app (runner often tries to open mail for the contact)
-akonadictl restart
if enter still does nothing, open the contact from kaddressbook itself. thats the workaround ive got till the runner action gets fixed.

runner action still dead then. next:
-journalctl --user -f
then open krunner, hit the contact, watch what fires when enter just closes it
-System Settings → Default Applications → Email. pick thunderbird or kmail for real. empty handler = enter just dies
-right click the krunner hit if a menu shows (copy email / open in kaddressbook)
for me i just pin kaddressbook and search there. krunner contacts just lists till that bug moves
