As Plasma 6.6 out, a new facility plasma-keyboard was created. This is a good news for Wayland touch screen users.
However, it uses Wayland input method v1 protocol, which means it’s conflict with Fcitx5 or similar IMEs, which are crucial for CJK input, whether the keyboard is physical or logical. Although plasma keyboard has so-called “Simplified Chinese” layout, it makes no sense as it’s just a copy of the US layout.
Another reason is that input method v1 protocol is not likely designed for OSKs, but IMEs.
