Hi to everyone. I’m a relatively new Kmymoney user, having just moved over from being a long term Gnucash user. I’ve managed to find my way round Kmymoney but the one thing I’m now struggling with is recording a one off transfer from a savings account to my current account, I was looking for a ‘transfer’ routine but I don’t know how to create this.
I firstly go into the ledger for the savings account (this is the source) and was hoping that there would be an option to create a transfer from the source to destination account, but there doesn’t appear an obvious way of doing this, does a routine exist to accomplish a one off transfer between accounts?
@ipwizard , since the label “Category” is not intuitive enough, as this example shows, would it be possible to modify it into “Category / Account” for the transaction form (and i guess also the split editor)? This might help users wanting to make a transfer between two kmymoney accounts.
I can create a wish in bug.kde if you need.
I am curious, would you share a bit on the reason(s) which make you leave Gnucash? I don’t know Gnucash myself and am happy with KMyMony, but still curious about the differences between both.
Surcouf, the main reason for the switch was the user interface of Kmymoney, it gave a lot more information at a glance on the ‘home’ tab, I can see in one place everything I need to know, functionality is, in my case, not much different between the two, I just find the way Kmymoney displays the information better
