I’ve set a custom notification sound for different apps in System Settings – Notifications – Configure for System – Notification. There I had added an .ogg file, that was played whenever apps like Thunderbird, Signal Desktop etc. received a notification.
This has stopped to work about 3 weeks ago. Since then, the default notification is played, which I can hardly hear. It’s a short pop sound that I miss very often. I cannot set any other sound, cause even if I pick one of the same theme, it won’t play. Only the default sound is played regardless of what I pick there. (The preview plays fine btw.)
For Thunderbird, I could set a custom sound in the app itself, but for apps like Signal, that option doesn’t exist. And that’s a problem for me because I keep missing notifications I should pay attention to.
Is someone else having this issue?
Could someone please try and set a custom sound there and see if it works?
In case it’s of any help: most of these apps are Flatpaks, but something has clearly changed, since I was using that custom sound for 1,5 years and all of a sudden it stopped working. Question is, is this a KDE Plasma problem or something else on my end?
Thanks!
