However, SDDM does not switch between dark and light themes on the login screen. If you change the wallpaper theme, a previous image remains. You have to search for the new wallpaper.
I think SDDM is not part of KDE.
Sddm is not a part of plasma and they are woking on a replacement called plasma login that should be more integrated with the while system.

As others said, sddm isn’t part of Plasma and will be replaced.
In addition, what about multiple users systems? If one user has a dark theme and anothe a light theme, which one should sddm use?
