I gotta have the two pairs of xeyes between deskbars. I no longer use Ububtu-Studio but the problem is there with Suse: Plasma-6 no longer lets me set the sizes or exact vertical placement of the right side deskbars. The slider controls appear only on the left!
Another problem I have with Plasma-6 is that setting my own icons to appear in the deskbars (such as in ‘Edit Applications’) has in some cases no effect, the system goes and fishes out it’s own icons ignoring the administrative directive. Under Tumbleweed I cannot set my own icon for konsole or Yast as examples.
I’m trying to have 4 deskbars, each with its own set of controls: lt-top, lt-bottom, rt-top, rt-bottom. Doesn’t matter what I do I have never yet seen the sliders for the right ones or either right one. Setting their alignment ‘buttons’ to center just causes overlap and then I have to completely move one of them like to the screen bottom edge in order to regain control.
I suspect things got messed up when I ‘upgraded’ to plasma-6 on top of the old one. Another example is ‘Settings’ which no longer seems to exist but if I type that into search then I get a volatile ‘Quick-Settings’ menu item which nonetheless never shows up in the system menu, etc. etc. etc. As for custom icons, seems to me that a ‘save’ should any old one from cache, that’s a pretty standard protocol (but I haven’t tried doing that msanually yet).
