Digikam crashes when starting to scan faces with Qt6 error

Hi!

Before I just report this as a bug, I wanted to ask for some help here since I’ve seen similar bug reports, but nothing exactly like what I’m seeing a problem with, so I’d like to make sure I’m not reporting already known issues.

I’m on CachyOS with Digikam 8.8.0 and have an issue where clicking “Scan for Faces” causes the app to crash. This is a new issue that I didn’t experience a few months ago when I used this feature last. Running Digikam and from the terminal directly trying to scan for faces yields these logs:

I’m on KDE Plasma 6.5.5 using Wayland and Qt Version 6.10.2. I’m on a hybrid graphics system (Intel Core i5-13500H Iris Xe Graphics & NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Max-Q) as well, which I’ve read can or could cause Digikam to fail to start. That is not the case for me though; it starts just fine; as said, it only crashes when I click “Scan for Faces” in the People Management section.

For further info, here’s the inxi -Fazy output from my system:
