Digikam: How to set home location.

Digikam: How to set home location. Asking as the geolocation feature has a home button, but this is set to the UK

@Matthew1:

First, welcome to the KDE Discuss Forum.

Which “Home” button?
Where?
Which digiKam version? – here with version 8.4.0.

With this digiKam version, there doesn’t seem to be a “Home” button anywhere in Geo-location Editor –

BTW, I prefer to use either OpenStreetMap or, the map published by our local government surveyor.
If the button you’re referring to is an Alphabet/Google feature then, I’m not the person who can help you.

By the way this movement thing is here no matter what map I Have, it is this movement thing that has the home button on it!

@Matthew1:

Yes, agreed – now with digiKam 8.5.0 – got updated this morning –

  • This button on the in the Left Side Bar Map Search View.

  • And it seems to point to a location in the Atlantic Ocean near the North-West Irish coast …

No idea – on this Desktop I don’t have a GPS receiver or any other location services.
For the KDE Night Color feature, in the KDE Plasma System Settings I’ve simply set the latitude and longitude values for my location in that desktop feature.
And, I haven’t found anything describing how either KDE Plasma or digiKam, can be made generally aware of the current location.
