Discuss is nice, but you need to many accounts, logins and all. It works, but still then you need to have a seperate Forum for every topic.
What Reddit does/did is connect Forums easily. Having a meta-Feed for Discuss, where you can see the “subDiscusses” you follow, would be great.
What do you think about that?

You could create a “meta feed” in an rss reader.
Use Lemmy or Kbin, it is a Reddit clone and federates. I like both Discourse and Lemmy, each definitely has it’s value.
This should NEVER be like Reddit.
