Do most applications export symbolic logos?

I realise that all decent icon packs export symbolic icons, but do most application authors now export symbolic logos? Usually, I wouldn’t ask this here, except that I’d like to file a request to be able to choose symbolic logos at for at least the Application Launcher (which requests colourful icons, when available): [1]

Explains why no option exists, then. Thanks. A shame: they do on Windows and AOSP.
