In the folder-tree, my extra drive opens in /media/username/drivename/. Same for all external drives. Would be much nicer NOT to see the systemfiles surrounding it.
current situation:
O, ik snap t. Mijn fout. No, tree view is…well, tree view. An autocascading view if you like. That one, at least that I’m aware of, looks at directories as they are. Unlike bookmarks or " added to locations". Not user shortcut defined if you like. If that makes any sense.
This COULD work if the location sidebar would be some weird kind of..how to put it..miller type treeview. So, a treeview defined by user location/bookmark.
There are levels of permanence - back in the day I used the /media, but now I use /mnt for my internal disks…
So yes, it’s quite possible to have drives mount where you want them. I like the Gnome software (Disks) - install gnome-disks.
Examples - I have a Toshiba 3TB and a 4TB drive, so I named them ‘T3’ and `T4’… and they mount at boot on /mnt/T3 and /mnt/T4.
This is not suitable for hot-plugging… then in F7 mode, I see mnt with mounted drives forked off and, of course, /mnt is not inside your /home directory.
