[DOLPHIN] Integration with Wine

I wished KDE developers would implement native support for Wine in similar way how it is made in windows when it comes to compatibility

In Windows you have that compatibility tab

Why not add native support directly in KDE here as well

Why do we have to install extra aps like bottles for example?

Wine is something that many people don’t want on their system. It can

  • run viruses
  • run proprietary applications
  • make devs lazy about creating native linux apps (they will say that linux users should run the windows version under wine)

Therefore, many people would oppose dolphin :dolphin: having wine :wine_glass:, it will intoxicate the poor mammal. However, I agree that wine integration will help many new users, especially in lieu of the end of 10 campaign. You could try writing a plug-in for this feature or sponsoring a KDE dev to work on it. SDK / Dolphin Plugins · GitLab might be a helpful place to start.
