I’ve noticed if using the default 1001 UID, the Dolphin Samba sharing panel (plug-in) works without issue. Shares created also appear in the KDE Info app. However, if I change the user id to something like 501, the sharing panel becomes blank and stops working entirely. I can configure Samba manually, but those shares don’t appeal in the Info app. I’m probably missing something here as to why this isn’t working after a UID change using usermod -u. Does anyone have any ideas?
