I don’t know if I’m the only one who has this issue but right clicking on a folder or file or clicking the context menu key on my keyboard can sometimes/often freeze my Dolphin on CachyOS. This seems random and whenever it happens, it will always happen on that same file or in the same folder and the only workaround as far as I know is to reboot my laptop.
Service menu/context menu actions are a double edge sword.
This happened to me yesterday, dolphin froze for about 30 seconds (guess) each time I right clicked into a folder. Stopped happening after closing and reopening dolphin, though.

In my case this issue came up when KDE 6.7 released and I upgraded to it. I was able to track it down to the “Send file via KDE Connect” Context Menu option. Disabling that resolves the issue.
Oddly if I wanted to reproduce it again I had to not only re-enable the Send Via KDEConnect option, but also restart my machine for the issue to recur.
I also have this issue since I have updated recently. The only way to fix it is to reboot and even then it quickly resurfaces again. Also since we’re talking about it, KDE Connect is now completely unusable on my computer. Dunno if the two issues are related, seems like a coincidence to me.
Edit: disabling some of the context menu items seems to have mitigated the issue for me.

That’s a bug caracteristic, how to reproduce the issue reliably. That kind of information can help fixing it.
The no context menu issue under Dolphin running Plasma 6.7.x is a result of the kdeconnectd issue, whereby kdeconnectd hogs 100% of one core all to itself seemingly at random, but mostly when your mobile device leaves WiFi coverage.
I’ve made numerous mentions of it here, but devs don’t seem terribly interested in acknowledging the problem let alone resolving it:
The fix is to open htop, sort by CPU usage, see if kdeconnectd is using 100% of one core, hit F9 and press enter to kill the process and exit htop - once done the context menu will work again and the Dolphin hangs will stop.
It’s awesome having your CPU pull down 90 watts at idle multiple times a day as a result of this problem…

If you’ve got new KDE Framework updates, and you are still experiencing this, maybe there’s something else to report back.
kdeconnect is part of kde Gears and the next kde gear release 26.08 is scheduled for August 20th. That should bring the fix.
(frameworks are almost all in the /framework/ namespace)
I’m running KDE Neon 6.7.3 here, the problems still very much present exactly as it always was.
I’m running KDE Frameworks version 6.28.0, which is the exact same version on my CachyOS system running Plasma 6.7.3. The problem definitely hasn’t been fixed as yet.

Although it’s been backported to 26.04, I don’t see any new minor release scheduled for it, so yeah.
