You might have multiple thumbnailers in /usr/share/thumbnailers/for those mimetypes.

I have the same issue locally for jpeg xl:

─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
       β”‚ File: /usr/share/thumbnailers/glycin-jxl.thumbnailer
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
   1   β”‚ [Thumbnailer Entry]
   2   β”‚ TryExec=/usr/bin/glycin-thumbnailer
   3   β”‚ Exec=/usr/bin/glycin-thumbnailer --input %u --output %o --size %s
   4   β”‚ MimeType=image/jxl;

─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
       β”‚ File: /usr/share/thumbnailers/jxl.thumbnailer
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
   1   β”‚ [Thumbnailer Entry]
   2   β”‚ TryExec=/usr/bin/gdk-pixbuf-thumbnailer

But how can we be sure which one is enabled, the names shown in Dolphin are too short and don’t have any extra info explaining from which package/path they come from,

Those added thumbnailers are coming from other libraries like glycin which is required by other gtk apps.

There is a way, move the files, remove their extension, one by one.

Of course dolphin could handle this more properly, this is just about time availability of benevolent devs like myself…

Thanks, yeah a simple tooltip or an extra column showing path would be a suitable solution.

I made PreviewSettings: add a tooltip showing the filename of plugins (!1065) Β· Merge requests Β· System / Dolphin Β· GitLab that will help in those situations.
