Dvorak keyboard with qwerty shortcuts

Hi there,

Moving from a Mac to Linux with KDE. Been using Apple’s Dvorak - QWERTY ⌘ Keyboard layout, where for the keyboard shortcuts the qwerty layout is preserved. Is there a similar feature on KDE or do I need to remap all my keyboard shortcuts manually in the system settings?

Any help appreciated, cheers!

I haven’t done this myself in earnest, but you could try experimenting with the “Switching to another layout” options in the Key Bindings settings.

For example, if you configure switching on “Left Alt (when pressed)”, and have Dvorak as your first layout, QWERTY as the second layout… does that give you the behaviour that you had on the Mac?

That’s almost what I want. Would need to try it out for a few days, cause I shill need to press the left alt to use a keyboard shortcuts. Also shortcuts with the Alt key become useless…
