A very strange error happens when I use the excalidraw.com website with the chromium browser in KDE Plasma. When using the pen tool and a stylus, the cursor is shown offset but the drawing happens at the same place where the pen touches the screen. This only happens if the display scale is not 100%. So it happens when the scale is 125% or 200% or any other number.
I tested with Fedora KDE Plasma spin with wayland. With an Huion Kamvas 16. The browsers I tested were Firefox, Chromium and Brave with the websites excalidraw.com and www.tldraw.com.
It was fine on Firefox. No cursor and drawing mismatch on any scale.
But on both Chromium and Brave the problem occured.
I also used Obsidian notes app with the excalidraw plugin, the same problem also happens there.
This is not a problem in Fedora GNOME with 200% scale on Chromium nor Brave nor Obsidian.
This is a bug report for Excalidraw plugin for Obsidian. This is the exact problem I am having.
It seems like a bug in how the chromium engine interacts with the plasma display scaling.
So I updated to Fedora 42 using the GNOME Software app. Just clicked download and the update was done.
Now the problem also happens with GNOME 200% scale.
When I get the time, I’ll test with some live usbs and then maybe have to put a bug report for Chromium.
Does anyone else have this problem?
If anyone has a pen display, can you try using some display scale with Chromium on excalidraw website and try using the pen tool?
