Hello!
Recently, fcitx has always been popping up a message saying to unset the gtk and qt im modules in favor of the wayland input method frontend instead. Going to the link it provided led me to instructions on how to do so, but got stuck when it asks to use im-config, which I do not have and can’t seem to find.
Switching between English and Japanese seems to have no issues despite this warning though, aside from Japanese randomly isolating latin letters and not writing anything on a text field until I backspace to the beginning. Regardless, I thought to follow through.
Is there any other way to set wayland input method frontend then?
Would this even be a big problem if I continue to ignore it?
Thanks!
The warning in question:
Detect GTK_IM_MODULE and QT_IM_MODULE being set and Wayland Input method frontend is working. It is recommended to unset GTK_IM_MODULE and QT_IM_MODULE and use Wayland input method frontend instead. For more details see https://fcitx-im.org/wiki/Using_Fcitx_5_on_Wayland#KDE_Plasma
Setup:
Fedora 40 KDE Plasma 6.1.4
