Hi, recently I had problem with my keyboard that it had been waking up my computer constantly. Current way to prevent that, is this solution: https://askubuntu.com/a/1385877 and https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Udev#Waking_from_suspend_with_USB_device
Sorry if I’m in wrong place. I don’t know whether this problem can be solved by the DE or should I ask distro, but my ideas for features that could prevent this are following:
When there is case where computer wakes up just after suspension for example 2 times in row user could get pop up telling them they can disable this device from going to sleep (or at least some info about what device or process which prevents suspend)
Add option to disable devices in Advanced Power Settings in System Settings
Make something similar to windows device manager where you can enable or disable devices https://www.howtogeek.com/manage-device-wake-permissions-on-your-windows-11/
Examples of people who had similar problems:
Device:
I have a Dell Laptop that is stationary on my desk and I often put it to sleep when I stop working (to save on power/heat/fan). If I then bump my mouse, or just even my desk, the laptop immediately wakes up.
Is there a way to set Plasma to not wake up the computer by a mouse movement, but only by keyboard/lid?
Software:
neon immediately wakes up after suspend
hello,
When I request a suspend, kde neon does it but right away, 1-2 seconds, it wakes up again.
This started happening since the 24th Nov 2023. One night it works the next it didn’t.
To quick test/debug peripherals:
I’ve run “sleep 30 ; sudo pm-suspend”
during the “sleep 30” I unplug mouse, keyboard and lan cable.
It goes to suspend but wakes up.
then
To eliminate the case of installed programs/drivers, I’ve live booted with a kde neon from janu…
Unknown:
I have two hard disks on my PC. To troubleshoot the problem, I installed Fedora Gnome on one and Fedora KDE on the other. When I suspend using the gnome version, everything works fine. But when I switch to the kde version, the system wakes up immediately after suspend. Is there any troubleshooting idea?
