# Feature request: access the face thumbnails from People, with export

I would like to be able to use all of the thumbnails generated by Digikam for the faces of a selected person. This would provide a nice collection of all the faces for that person, which you could use to create a timeline, a collage, a mosaic, etc. There are people in my collection where I have over 3,000 photos for the same person, so there would be plenty to choose from.

The thumbnails are already sitting in the database waiting to be extracted, but I lack the programming skills to pull them out. There is an existing [feature request](https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428894) from 2020 that is asking more or less the same thing, but since it is now five years old and I didn’t find a similar discussion here, I decided to post about it.
