File share from Android to windows seems to not work

Hello, I’ve been struggling with an issue and after much searching I decided to post a topic on this forum.

I’m trying to send a screenshot from my android device to my Windows laptop using KDE connect. The file I’m sending does not show up anywhere on Windows, I’ve checked the folder as configured in the file share plugin, and I’ve changed this folder to other directories but I’m not winning.

On Android, I get a notification to say the file share was successful. When I share a file from my Windows PC to the Android device it succeeds, and I can access it on my phone. The “Remote Input” plugin also seems to work, and I can use my phone as a trackpad for my PC. Ping in both directions also work just fine.

So I’m confident in saying the integration between the two devices is set up and functional. But I am unable to send files to my PC. Things appear to be failing silently.

What would be a massive help is if there is some way to access logs for KDEConnect on Windows, so that I can see if the incoming file is received and what is done with it once it’s downloaded. But I’ve been unable to figure out where to get or read the logs for Connect on Windows.

Has anyone else run into a similar issue, or does anyone know how I can access logs on Windows?

Thanks

I think I have figured out the issue in my case. I had “Enable Bluetooth (beta)” switched on in the app settings. When testing between my phone and tablet, I noticed that it took ages to download the file from my phone to the tablet. So the BT connection is very slow it seems.

Switching that feature off made the files appear in Windows almost immediately. It would be nice if we can get some notifications on Windows, or error logs…
