Firefox keeps reducing the volume on some YouTube videos

Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue on my openSuse Tumbleweed system where the volume in the OS mixer gets reduced for certain YouTube videos. For example, it drops to around 52%. I can set it back to 100%, but as soon as I skip forward or backward in the video, the volume is reduced again.

I’ve tried using Chrome, and the issue does not occur there. I also started Firefox in safe mode to disable all extensions, but the problem still persists. I also have a Laptop with Tumbleweed installed and there this happens too.

I can reliably reproduce it with this video:

I have already posted this in the firefox fourm, but nobody answered after 8 days. Firefox version is 148.0.2 (64-Bit)

Does it happen in X11?
What desktop?
Have not seen that issue.

Just played the video with no issues. See if it happens while on a live usb stick.

First of a!l crazy ahh video. Then the bug you’re describing is nothing new:

Try reinstalling PusleAudio and/or Pavucontrol

Thanks for all the replies. I have found an extension that fixed the issue for me:
