Folder colors on the desktop are reset after reboot

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a problem with folder colors on the KDE Plasma desktop.
I have changed the color of some folders on my desktop using the folder properties. The color is applied correctly and remains correct during the current session.
However, after rebooting the computer, those folders are displayed with their default color again.

The strange part is that if I right-click one of the affected folders and open Properties, the custom color immediately appears correctly again. I don’t need to change anything, simply opening the Properties window seems to make Plasma display the correct color.
So, as far as I can tell, the custom color is actually saved, but it is not displayed correctly after reboot until I open the folder’s Properties.
Has anyone experienced something similar, or is there a known fix or workaround?

It would help if you could provide the distro you are using and versions of all the things: distro, Plasma, Frameworks, Dolphin (if that is where you are seeing the problem), etc.

Here are my system details:

Operating System: Kubuntu 26.04 LTS

KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.6

KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0

Qt Version: 6.10.2

Kernel Version: 7.0.0-29-generic (64-bit)

Graphics Platform: Wayland

Dolphin Version: 25.12.3

I’m facing this issue only with folders on the Desktop (Desktop View). In Dolphin, everything works fine.
