I’ve made a fairly large leap on my desktop when updating, jumped from Plasma 6.3.2 to 6.4.5 and Apps 24.12.x to 25.08.2, and it seems like fontconfig is basically now ignored by all KDE apps on the system. I have antialiasing disabled, fonts.conf reflects that properly, yet all apps ignore every setting in that file and have antialiased fonts. Most noticeably, konsole disables hinting on my terminal font and does not use what is set in fonts.conf. Checking/unchecking antialiasing (which updates fonts.conf) in the system settings does nothing.
Is anyone having a similar issue? I didn’t see much discussion about that on the forums, so I’m assuming something is different in my setup. Other Qt6 apps use the parameters and render the fonts fine.
