So, I think this issue started happening after 6.2.3 update? Might be wrong, but I definitely remember it was 6.2.x update.
System information:
Arch Linux with 6.12.9-3-cachyos kernel
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0
Qt Version: 6.8.1
GPU: RTX 3060
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800H
So what happens is whenever I use my laptop with an external monitor there are frequent a second or two freezes happening on the external screen. The audio doesn’t hang, the system is fully usable after the freeze, but it’s a bit annoying. While I can live with this when doing basic stuff like web browsing, it gets annoying when gaming.
I don’t see any specific errors in the logs, besides this:
saus. 19 08:42:22 archomen kwin_wayland[982]: kwin_scene_opengl: Wait failed
But it’s from OpenGL, so I don’t know how that can be related. If I can provide you with any additional information, tell me and I’ll give it to you.
